Quilt Retreat

Look what else I made on my quilt trip retreat!!!  I made the bright colored apron while I was there and loved it so much that I came home and made this black, white and mustard version. 

I was away for a quilt retreat with my wonderful friends and mother at the end of August.  We had so much fun not to mention completely enjoyed the coolor temps.

Here are two purses I made from the same pattern.  They are both reversible.  The brown one is smaller.  I am so loving this purse... I will be making a larger version too.  

I also made a quilt top... the theme was owl... oh how I love owls.  I hope to finish the quilting on that and post a pic soon.

Shabby Seams Quilt

I made this fun bright colored quilt for spring with my mother. We both made one. So very easy and done in two days time.

Crafting Day

Ohhhh we had so much fun, my friend Alyson and I!!! Alyson had the great idea, so we got together and created banners. The one shown here is mine. Alyson's looks completely different and amazing....I will be getting over to her house soon to photograph hers.

Zion National Park




Bryce Canyon National Park

I went to Bryce and Zion national park a week ago and had a fantastic time. The weather was incredible and the leaves were still changing colors. We had a family reunion for my mother in law who had recently turned 90! We stayed in a beautiful home nestled in the hills, the cows were our neighbors. This picture of the cows was taken after an early morning walk. I came upon one cow and before I knew it several cows came around the corner. I think they thought I was bringing breakfast to them!

My new necklace

So my friend came over and wanted my help making a soldered pendant for her mother in law. Well you know it can take all day to drag everything out. So when she left I just keep going and made this new necklace.

Fall is here.....finally! Day temps are still getting up above 100 but at least the evenings and mornings are nice! Here a few photos of my fall and Halloween decorations.

Take Over

OK, what's the best thing about you children leaving home for college? A room take over! See her cute little collection of pigs.....and then.....a cutting table and bolts of fabric. And this is just the start!

Soldered Objects

I took a class recently and learned that I can solder objects that don't have glass. How cool is that!!! Check out the vintage monopoly hotel.

Show and Tell

OK, I had sooooo much fun this weekend in this class!!! I took a class at Mystic Paper from Lilia Meredith. She taught this adorable book, shaped like a house and made out of fabrics, ribbons, lace etc. Now I rushed in like a whirlwind cause I also had a wedding to attend, but I didn't want to miss this. Sewing machines were humming and scraps of fabric were everywhere. It is still unfinished and you can see the threads that still need clipping. Inside are paper pages that will of course have all kinds of embellishments. And there is still a bit more embellishing I need to do to the outside of my house. I will be posting my finished photos soon I hope!!!
The wedding was beautiful. They had the reception at a barn in Florence. The barn which looked brand new was brought here from Wisconsin and since the bride is from Wisconsin, it was perfect. Wish I had taken my camera.

Butterfly Farm
